BOARD OF COSMETOLOGY RULES NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

February 13, 2006

The Department of Labor and Economic Growth will hold a public hearing on February 13, 2006, at the Bureau of Commercial Services, 2501 Woodlake Circle, Okemos Michigan in Conference Room 1, 2nd floor. The hearing will be held to receive public comments on proposed changes to the Administrative Rules for Cosmetology.

 

The proposed rule set # 2005-034 will allow cosmetology schools to expand due to increased enrollment, or a desire to increase enrollment, to other physical locations when their current location cannot physically accommodate the need for additional space.

 

These rules are promulgated by authority conferred on the Department of Labor and Economic Growth by sections 308, 1204, and 1205, of the 1980 PA 299, MCL 339.308, 339.1204, and 339.1205, Executive Reorganization Order No. 1996-2, MCL 445.2001, and Executive Reorganization Order No. 2003-1, MCL 445.2011. These rules will take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State.

 

The rules [Rule Set 2005-034] are published on the Michigan Government web site at  http://www.michigan.gov/orr and in the January 15, 2006 issue of the Michigan Register.
