    REAL ESTATE APPRAISER RULES Rule Set 2012-021 LR

     

    NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING THURSDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2012

    The Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs will hold a public hearing on Thursday, October 25, 2012, at the Bureau of Commercial Services, 2501 Woodlake Circle, Okemos, Michigan in Conference Room 3 at 10:00 a.m.  The hearing will be held to receive public comments on proposed changes to the Administrative Rules for Real Estate Appraisers.

     

    The proposed rule set (2012-021 LR) will revise the current rules to update the citation of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).  These standards are revised bi-annually by the Appraisal Standards Board to establish generally accepted standards for the appraisal profession.  The 2012-13 edition of the USPAP will be valid for two years, effective January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2012.

     

    These rules are promulgated by authority conferred on the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs by sections 205, 308, 2605, and 2617 of 1980 PA 299, being MCL 339.205, 339.308, 339.2605,

    and 339.2617; and, Executive Reorganization Order Nos. 1996-2, 2003-1 and 2008-4, being MCL 445.2001, MCL 445.2011, and MCL 445.2025.  These rules will take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State.
