Mr. Rob Nederhood
Office of Regulatory Reinvention George W. Romney Building – 4th Floor 111 S. Capitol Avenue
Lansing, MI 48933 Dear Mr. Nederhood:
A rule set promulgated under authority of the Eggs law, 1963 PA 244, MCL 289.334, has been made obsolete through the repeal of the Eggs law by recent amendments to the Food Law contained in 2012 PA 178. These changes, effective October 1, 2012, repealed the Eggs law 1963 PA 244, MCL 289.321 to 289.336. The Food Law now contains standards for eggs previously covered under the Eggs law and rule set.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is writing the Office of Regulatory Reinvention to request corrections to the Administrative Code be made, pursuant to the Administrative Procedures Act, Section 44(1), MCL 24.244. We request the following administrative rule be rescinded, effective immediately:
· R 285.536.1 – R 285.536.8, Labeling, Advertising, and Sale of Eggs If you have any questions regarding this submission, please contact me at 241-4085.
Sincerely,
Bradley N. Deacon
