NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

BOARD OF CHIROPRACTIC – GENERAL RULES NOVEMBER 30, 2009

9:00 A.M.

The Department of Community Health will hold a public hearing on Monday, November 30, 2009, starting at 9:00 a.m. at the Department of Community Health, Ottawa Building, 611 West Ottawa, Conference Room 1, Upper Level, Lansing, Michigan.

 

The public hearing is being held to receive comments from interested persons on amendments to the Michigan Board of Chiropractic Administrative Rules. The proposed rules will clarify the requirements for licensure by examination and licensure by endorsement; update accreditation standards for chiropractic educational programs; provide a definition for “distance learning” continuing education programs; increase the number of continuing education hours required for relicensure; require that chiropractic schools submit information to the Department regarding the continuing education programs being offered by the school; require that chiropractic schools submit the continuing education program information to the Department at the start of the academic year and before holding the program; and specify the information a licensee is required to include in an initial patient record entry and subsequent patient record entries.

 

These rules are being promulgated under the authority of sections 16145(3) and 16401 of 1978 PA 368, MCL 333.16145(3) and MCL 333.16401 et seq. and Executive Reorganization Order Nos. 1996-1, 1996-2, and 2003-1, MCL 333.3101, MCL 445.2001 and MCL 445.2011. The rules will take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State, unless specified otherwise in the rules.

 

Comments on the proposed rules may be presented in person at the public hearing. Written comments may be submitted at the time of presentation and will also be accepted until Friday, December 4, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. at the following address or E-mail address:
