    NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

    BOARD OF MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPY GENERAL RULES JANUARY 17, 2012

    9:00 A.M.

    RULE SET # 2011-008 LR

     

    The Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, starting at 9:00 a.m. at the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, Ottawa Building, 611 West Ottawa, Conference Room 4, Upper Level, Lansing, Michigan.

     

    The public hearing is being held to receive comments from interested persons on amendments to the Michigan Board of Marriage and Family Therapy administrative rules. The rules are being revised to update and clarify rule language, update accreditation standards for marriage and family therapy training programs and postsecondary institutions, and allow an individual to take the national examination before completing the 1,000 hours of supervised, direct client contact required for licensure.

     

    These rules are being promulgated under the authority of sections 16145(3) and 16109 of 1978 PA 368, MCL 333.16145(3) and MCL 333.16109 et seq. and Executive Reorganization Order Nos. 1996-1, 1996-2, 2003-1, and 2011-4, MCL 333.3101, MCL 445.2001, MCL 445.2011, and MCL 445.2030. The

    rules will take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State, unless specified otherwise in the rules.

     

    Comments on the proposed rules may be presented in person at the public hearing. Written comments may be submitted at the time of presentation and will also be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on January 20, 2012, at the following address or e-mail address:
