    Rule 1. As used in th ese ru les:

    (a)  "Ada ptive beha vior" mean s an in d ivi d ua l's A STUD EN T'S ability to per form th e socia l roles appropriat e for a person of his or her age an d gender in  a  mann er  that  meets th e expe ctat ions of home, cultur e, sch ool, neighborh ood, an d oth er relevant groups in which he or she part icipat es.

    (4)    THE MIC HIGAN SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF SHALL BE CONSI DERED A PART OF THE  TOTAL  CONTINUU M  OF   SERVICES   FOR   STUD EN TS   WITH   HE ARING IN PAIRMEN T.      THE      RESID EN T      DISTRICT      SHALL      CONDUCT      THE INDI VIDU ALIZED EDUCATIO N PROGR AM TEAM MEE TING THAT INITI ATES AN ASSIGNM EN T      INTO      THE      MIC HIGAN      SCHOOL      FOR      THE      DEAF. REP RESEN TATIVES OF THE INT ERMEDIATE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF RESID EN CE AND THE  MIC HIGAN  SCHOOL  FOR  THE  DEAF  SHALL  BE  IN VITED  TO PARTICI PATE   IN   THE   INDI VIDU ALIZED   EDUCATIO N    PROGR AM    TEAM MEE TING. THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATIO N  SHALL  ADOPT  PROCEDURES FOR PLACEMEN T AT THE MIC HIGAN SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF.
