The Department of Consumer and Industry Services will hold a public hearing on Monday, May 19, 2003, at the Bureau of Commercial Services, 2501 Woodlake Circle, Okemos Michigan in Conference Room 1 at 10:00 a.m. The hearing will be held to receive public comments on proposed changes to the Administrative Rules for Barbering.

 

The proposed rules are to make technical corrections to the text, update sanitation and safety rules regarding blood spills, and update alternatives for determining equivalency for a 10th grade education. Comments on the rules may be made in person at the hearing or by mail, FAX, or Electronic mail until May 28, 2003.

 

These rules are promulgated by authority conferred on the Department of Consumer & Industry Services by sections 308, 1105, 1108, and 1112 of 1980 PA 299, MCL 339.308 and 339.721, and Executive Reorganization Order No. 1996-2, MCL 445.2001. These rules will take effect seven days after filing with the Secretary of State.
