SUBJECT: Request for correction of the Justice Training Fund Rule R 18.14903 (h), pursuant to Administrative Procedures Act, Section 56(1), MCL 24.256 (1).
The Michigan Commission on Law enforcement Standards, as a promulgating agency, is writing to request that the State Office of Administrative Hearings and Rules exercise its discretion to correct an obvious error in the Justice Training Fund Rules, pursuant to the Administrative Procedures Act, Section 56(1), MCL 24.256 (1).
The error is contained in R 18.14903 (h). The rule was promulgated January 19, 2006. The affected line in currently reads (italics added):
(h) Training outside Michigan or training provided by a vendor from outside Michigan, if the recipient has determined that similar training is not available in Michigan or that a Michigan vendor is not available. If an eligible entity choses to use out-of-state training or an out-of-state vendor, then the entity shall request authorization from the commission, in writing, in advance, and in a manner prescribed by the commission.
R 18.14903 (h) should be corrected by changing only the word “choses” to “chooses.”
