ACCOUNTING RULES

Rule Set 2002-066 NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Department of Consumer and Industry Services will hold a public hearing on Friday, May 16, 2003, at the Bureau of Commercial Services, 2501 Woodlake Circle, Okemos Michigan in Conference Room 1 at 9:00 a.m. The hearing will be held to receive public comments on proposed changes to the Administrative Rules for Accounting.

 

The proposed rules are to outline new procedures to accommodate the implementation of computerized examinations for CPA certification and licensure, revise the method of measurement of Continuing Education instruction credit, include 2 hours of continuing education credit in ethics as part of the 40 hours per year requirements for reciprocal or reentering applicants, and update the publication date and Internet source of the “Code of Professional Conduct,” adopted by reference in these rules. Comments on the rules may be made in person at the hearing or by mail, FAX, or Electronic mail until May 26, 2003.

 

These rules are promulgated by authority conferred on the Department of Consumer & Industry Services by sections 308 and 721 of 1980 PA 299, MCL 339.308 and 339.721, and Executive Reorganization Order No. 1996-2, MCL 445.2001. These rules will take effect seven days after filing with the Secretary of State.
