    The Department of Labor and Economic Growth, Office of Financial and Insurance Services will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at 9:00 a.m. at the Michigan Library and Historical Center, 702 West Kalamazoo, Lansing, Michigan in the Forum on the Ground Floor. The hearing will be held to receive public comments on proposed rules to prohibit a nonprofit health care corporation from including discretionary clauses in its certificates and other contract documents. The proposed rules are              new rules, to add proposed R 550.111 and R 550.112 to the Michigan Administrative Code.

     

    These rules are promulgated by authority conferred on the commissioner of the Office of Financial and Insurance Services by Sections 422 and 617 of the Nonprofit Health Care Corporation Reform Act, 1980 PA 350, MCL 550.1422 and MCL 550.1617. These rules are proposed to take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State.

     

    The rules [Rule Set 2006-024 LG] are published on the Michigan Government web site at http://www.michigan.gov/orr and will be published in Michigan Register #11, July 1, 2006.
