NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING July 19, 2006

The Department of Labor and Economic Growth, Office of Financial and Insurance Services will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at the Michigan Library and Historical Center, 702 West Kalamazoo, Lansing, Michigan in the Forum on the Ground Floor. The hearing will be held to receive public comments on proposed rules to prohibit insurers subject to MCL 500.2236 from including discretionary clauses in their insurance policy forms or other contract documents. The proposed rules are new rules, to add proposed R 500.2201 and R 500.2202 to the Michigan Administrative Code.

 

These rules are promulgated by authority conferred on the commissioner of the Office of Financial and Insurance Services by Sections 210 and 2236 of the Insurance Code, 1956 PA 218, MCL 500.210, MCL 500.2236. These rules are proposed to take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State.
