The Department of Labor and Economic Growth, Office of Financial and Insurance Services will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at 9:30 a.m. at the Michigan Library and Historical Center, 702 West Kalamazoo, Lansing, Michigan in the Forum on the Ground Floor. The hearing will be held to receive public comments on proposed rules to prohibit credit insurers from including discretionary clauses in their credit insurance policy forms or other contract documents. The proposed rules are new rules, to add proposed R 550.301 and R 550.302 to the Michigan Administrative Code.

 

These rules are promulgated by authority conferred on the commissioner of the Office of Financial and Insurance Services by Section 22 of the Credit Insurance Act, 1958 PA 173, MCL 550.622. These rules are proposed to take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State.
