The Department of Labor and Economic Growth, Office of Financial and Insurance Services will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at the Michigan Library and Historical Center, 702 West Kalamazoo, Lansing, Michigan in the Forum on the Ground Floor. The hearing will be held to receive public comments on proposed rules to prohibit the use in insurance policy forms of shortened limitation of action clauses. The proposed rules are new rules, to add proposed R 500.2211 and R 500.2212 to the Michigan Administrative Code.

 

These rules are promulgated by authority conferred on the commissioner of the Office of Financial and Insurance Services by Sections 210 of the Insurance Code, 1956 PA 218, MCL 500.210. These rules are proposed to take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State.
