    NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

    Local Health Personnel

     

    The Department of Community Health will hold a public hearing on Monday, July 19, 2010 at

    2: 00 p.m. at the Department of Community Health, 201 Townsend, 1st Floor, Conference Center B & C, Lansing, Michigan.

     

    This is the second public hearing held to receive comments from interested persons on amendments to the Local Health Personnel administrative rules.  The proposed amendments provide that local health departments continue to have access to and maintain adequate and appropriate medical direction within Michigan’s public health system.  These changes will provide consistency in Medical Direction amongst Local Health Personnel.  The first hearing was held on Monday, May 17, 2010, and many public comments were received. The proposed changes also include elimination of R 325.13002 (c) as an option for "Medical health officer; qualifications.

     

    These rules are being promulgated under the authority conferred on the director of community health by sections 2495 of 1978 PA 368, MCL 333.2495. These rules are proposed to take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State.

     

    Hearing comments may be presented in person, with written comments available at the time of presentation.  Written comments also will be accepted at the following address or E-mail address until 4:30 p.m. on Monday, July 19, 2010.  Address communications to:
