    DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND ECONOMIC GROWTH OFFICE OF FINANCIAL AND INSURANCE SERVICES DEFERRED PRESENTMENT STATEWIDE DATABASE NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

    The Department of Labor and Economic Growth, Office of Financial and Insurance Services will hold a public hearing on Monday, August 20, 2007, at the Michigan Library and Historical Center, 702 West Kalamazoo, Lansing, Michigan, 48915, in the Lake Superior Room on the Ground Floor at 10:00 a.m. The hearing will be held to receive public comments on proposed rules governing data retention, archiving, and deletion in the Deferred Presentment Statewide Database operating under the Deferred Presentment Service Transactions Act, 2005 PA 244.

     

    The proposed rules are new rules, drafted to fulfill the requirements of 2005 PA 244, MCL 487.2142(12).

     

    These rules are promulgated by authority conferred on the Commissioner of the Office of Financial and Insurance Services by 2005 PA 244, MCL 487.2140, 487.2142(12), and MCL 487.2171. These rules are proposed to take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State.

     

    The rules [Rule Set 2007-021 LG] are published on the Michigan Government web site at http://www.michigan.gov/orr and will be published in the August 15, 2007 issue of the Michigan Register. Comments may be submitted to the following address by 5:00 P.M. on Monday, August 20, 2007.
