The Department of Labor & Economic Growth, Workers’ Compensation Agency will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, October 11, 2006, at the Department of Labor & Economic Growth, State Secondary Complex, General Office Building, 7150 Harris Drive, Lansing, Michigan in Conference Room B on the first floor at 10:00 a.m. The hearing will be held to receive public comment on the proposed rule modification for R418.56 (Rule 6) Subpoena; provision to opposing party; submittal of subpoenaed records; disputes.
The proposed rule change is drafted to require that those requesting a subpoena, to receive subpoenaed records directly versus the current method that requires that the records be subpoenaed to the Board of Magistrates.
These rules are promulgated by authority conferred on the Director of the Department of Labor and Economic Growth by section 213 of 1969 PA 317, and Executive Reorganization Order No. 1996-2, 2002-1, and 2003-1 MCL 418.213, MCL 445.2001, MCL 445.2004, and MCL 445.2011. This rule will
become effective immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State unless adopted under sections 33, 44 or 45a (6) of 1969 PA 306. Rules adopted under these sections become effective 7 days after filing with the Secretary of State.
This rule, R418.56 (Rule 6), is published on the Michigan Government web site at http://www.michigan.gov/orr and in the September 15, 2006 issue of the Michigan Register.
