    DNA PROFILING SYSTEM Rule Set 2009-048 SP

    NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

    September 30, 2010

    The Department of State Police, Forensic Science Division will hold a public hearing on Thursday, September 30, 2010, at the Michigan State Police Training Academy, 7426 North Canal Road, Lansing, Michigan at 10:00 a.m..  The hearing will be held to receive public comments on proposed rules governing DNA profiling system.

     

    The proposed rules are changes to existing rules, drafted to clarify the procedures governing the collection and transmittal of DNA samples, and to incorporate the requirements of Michigan statutes amended or enacted since the previous rules were promulgated.

     

    These rules are promulgated by authority conferred on the Department of State Police by 1990 PA 250, MCL 28.173.  These rules will are proposed to take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State.

    The hearing site is accessible, including handicapped parking.
