Section 29.1842. Life safety code; new nursing homes; adoption by reference.

Rule 42. (1) The provisions of chapters 1 to 10, 11, 18, and 43 of the code that apply to new nursing home occupancies are adopted by reference in R 19.1802.
(2) Section 18.4.3.7.2.1 is amended to read as follows:
18.4.3.7.2.1 Where the smoke compartment being modified is not protected throughout by an approved, supervised automatic sprinkler system in accordance with 19.3.5.7, all of the following shall apply:
(1) Doors protecting corridor openings shall be constructed of 1-3/4 in. (44 mm) thick, solid-bonded core wood or of construction that resists the passage of fire for a minimum of 20 minutes.
(2) Door frames shall be labeled or of steel construction.
(3) Deleted.
