    3.2.2 “Authority having jurisdiction” (AHJ). The director of the department of energy, labor, and economic growth or an employee of the department of energy, labor, and economic growth appointed by the director to implement the act. 3.2.3 Code. The national fire protection association pamphlet no.  1,  2006 edition, entitled “Uniform Fire Code.” as amended by these rules.3.2.11 Maintenance. The service required to keep fire safety  materials, equipment, systems, and system components in a condition of good repair or efficiency to assure the fire safety systems, materials, or equipment perform as intended. The service includes the replacement of component parts when for any reason the parts become undependable or inoperable and includes periodic inspections and tests of the fire safety materials, equipment, and systems. 3.2.12 Operation. The regular performance of the full range of intended functions of the fire safety features required by these rules.

    3.3.165.1  Ambulatory  health   care  occupancy.  A   licensed  free-standing  surgical outpatient facility as defined in section 20106 of 1978 PA 368, MCL 333.20106.

    3.3.165.10   Educational occupancy. A school as defined in section 1561 of 1976 PA 451, MCL 380.1561.

    3.3.165.11   Health care occupancy. An occupancy used for purposes of medical or other treatment or care of 4 or more persons where such occupants are mostly incapable of self-preservation due to age, physical or mental disability, or because of security measures not under the occupants' control.

    This rule is applicable to a licensed health  care  facility  as  defined  in section 20106 of 1978 PA 368, MCL 333.20106.

    3.3.165.12   Hospital. A building or portion thereof used on a 24-hour basis for the medical, psychiatric, obstetrical, or surgical care of 4 or more inpatients. A licensed hospital as defined in section 20106 of 1978 PA  368, MCL 333.20106.

    3.3.165.15 Limited care facility. A licensed home for the aged as defined  in section 20106 of 1978 PA 368, MCL 333.20106.

    3.3.165.18 Nursing home. A licensed    nursing    home    or    county     medical    care facility as defined in section 20106 of 1978 PA 368, MCL 333.20106.

    3.3.172 MIOSHA. The Michigan occupational safety and health administration of the department of energy, labor, and economic growth.
