  • Upon petition of the defendant, in any case where the sentence  as approved includes a sentence of confinement, the tribunal shall grant a stay of the sentence until its decision on the merits of the case. In any other case, the tribunal may grant a stay or defer service of the sentence until its decision on the merits of the case. Any application for  a  stay shall be filed within the time limits prescribed in R 32.176.
