  • Instruments used by a medical physicist in his or her annual survey to measure the air kerma or air kerma rate from a stereotactic breast biopsy unit shall be calibrated once every 2 years and each time the instrument is repaired. The instrument calibration must be traceable to a national standard and calibrated with an accuracy of plus or minus 6 percent (95 percent confidence level) in the mammography energy range.
