(1) An employer shall assure that an employee is not exposed to an airborne concentration of benzene of more than 1 part of benzene per million parts of air (1 ppm) as an 8-hour, time-weighted average (TWA).
(2) An employer shall assure that an employee is not exposed to an airborne concentration of benzene of more than 5 ppm averaged over any 15-minute period as a short-term exposure limit (STEL).
