(1) An animal control shelter or animal protection shelter shall establish and maintain written procedures for the administration of animal tranquilizers. These procedures shall be kept on the licensed premises and shall be available for inspection.

(2) An individual’s continued proficiency and a shelter’s compliance with written procedures, in addition to compliance with all rules and regulations, may be monitored by the administrator or the board of veterinary medicine.
