  • (1) A maximum of 48 credit hours may be earned for serving as an instructor of podiatry students, house staff, other physicians, or allied health professionals in a hospital or institution with a training program approved by the board if the hospital or institution has approved the instruction. A maximum of 48 credit hours may  be similarly obtained in a hospital or institution that does not have a training program approved by the board, if the sponsor of the program submits information that the board determines is needed to establish the quality of the instructional programs approved by that hospital or institution and the board approves the program.

    (2) A maximum of 48 credit hours may be earned by a licensee who teaches students of accredited podiatry colleges under a rotating externship or clerkship program recognized and approved by the college.
