  • (1) The installation, use, and maintenance of a gas appliance and gas piping shall be in accordance with the  provisions  of  the  1969 editions of pamphlet no. 54, installation of gas appliance and gas piping, and pamphlet no. 54A, standards for the installation, maintenance and use of piping, appliances, and fittings for city  gas, of the national fire protection association, which are adopted by reference in R 400.18659.

    (2) A liquefied petroleum gas installation shall be in compliance with the provisions of Act 207 of 1941, as amended, being S29.1, et seq. of the Michigan Compiled Laws. When a gas supply line is placed in a tunnel, it shall be installed without  joints  and  the tunnel  shall   have  forced ventilation.
