Section 400.4151. Emergency; continuity of operation procedures.

  • (1) An institution shall establish and follow written emergency procedures that have been approved by the department that maintain the continuity of operations for a minimum of 72 hours to assure the safety of residents for the following circumstances:

    (a)   Fire.

    (b)   Severe weather.

    (c)   Medical emergencies.

    (d)  Missing persons.

    (f)  Disasters.

    (g)   Utility failures.

    (2)   The procedures shall explain, in detail, all of the following:

    (a)   Staff roles and responsibilities.

    (b)   Evacuation procedures.

    (c)   Required notifications, including but not limited to, the licensing authority, the referring agency, and law enforcement.

    (d)  Methods for maintaining continuity of services.
