Hand protection shall consist of protective gloves or a glove system that will provide protection against cuts, punctures, and heat penetration. Gloves or a glove system shall meet the requirements of NFPA 1971 “Standard on protective ensemble for structural fire fighting and proximity fire fighting,” 1997 edition, as adopted in R 408.17302.
