Means of power transmission, such as, but not limited to, belts, gears, shafts, pulleys, sprockets, spindles, drums, fly wheels, chains, or other reciprocating, rotating, or moving parts of equipment, shall be guarded as prescribed in General Industry Safety Standard Part 7 “Guards for Power Transmission,” as referenced in R 408.40105, if the part is exposed to contact by an employee or otherwise constitutes a hazard.
