  • Each safety or relief valve  shall  be  plainly  marked  by  the manufacturer in such a way that the markings will not be obliterated in service. The markings shall be cast or stamped on the valve body or on the lifting lever, providing the lifting lever is permanently attached to the valve, or, when desirable because of size, all or  part  of  the   required markings may be stamped, cast  or  etched  on  a  plate or plates, each securely fastened to the valve body, lever or other permanent   part  of the valve, and such markings shall include the following:

    (a)   The name or identifying trademark of manufacturer.

    (b)   Size                                                           inches.

    (The pipe size of the inlet)

    (c)   Pressure                                                                                   psi. (The pressure at which it is set to blow)

    (d)  Capacity                                                         lb. per hour, or

    Capacity                                                             Btu per hour in accordance with Par. H-51(d) ASME code.

    (e)   ASME symbol as shown in Fig. H-4 ASME code.
