    Rule 99b. I n a dd it ion t o th e r eq u ir e m e nt s lis t ed in R 340 .1781 , t The teacher educat ion program for teachers of th e STUD EN TS WITH visua lly im p a ir ed IMPAIRMEN T sha ll include a minimum of 30 semester OR EQUI VALEN T hour s relat ing to th e followin g ar eas: (a) Twelve  semester  OR  EQUI VALEN T  hour s  of  spe cial  sk ills  an d  techn iques  for work ing with th e STUD EN TS WITH visua lly im p a ir ed IMPAIRMEN T, including a ll of th e following:

    (i)                 Beginn ing an d advan ced bra ille .

    (ii)               Meth ods  of teaching  th e blin d an d p art ia lly s ight ed  STUD EN TS  WITH  VISU AL IMP AIRM EN T.

    (iii)             Special  equipment  an  it  use   for   th  STUD EN TS    WITH   visua lly  im p a ir ed IMP AIRM EN T.

    (b)               Ten semester  OR EQUIVALEN T hour s in  th e development  of competence in  ALL OF th e followin g ar eas:

    (i)                 Ability  to  work  as  a  member  of  a  mu lt idisciplinar y  E VALU ATIO N  team  which includes medical an d techn ical personn el.

    (ii)               Ability to develop an d implement  a curr iculum  an d an  instru ct iona l program  for a ran ge of STUD EN TS WITH visua lly im p a ir ed s tu de nt s IMP AIRM EN T.

    (iii)             Ability to implement an d support a program of commun icat ion sk ills an d techn iques an d to implement an d support a program of orientat ion an d mobility sk ills as deemed appropriat e for th e stu dent .

    (iv)             Ability to explain th e stru ctur e an d fun ct ion of th e eye an d th e impact of vision impairm ent on learn ing an d to serve as a resour ce person an d con sultant for STUD EN TS WITH visua lly im p a ir ed s tu de nt s IMPAIRM EN T in r egu lar GENE RAL an d spe cial educat ion classes .

    (v)               Ability to instru ct  STUD EN TS  WITH  visua lly im p a ir ed  s tu de nt s  IMPAIRM EN T regar ding all of th e following:

    (A)             Human  sexua lit y.

    (B)              Home, fam ily, an d commun ity living. (C)       Car eer selection.

    (D)      The use of loca l, stat e, an d nat iona l resour ces.

    (vi)             Ability to develop an d implement  spe cial instru ct ion  in  ALL OF  th e followin g life sk ill ar eas:
